An opportunity for accessibility in the music education space

I’ve always been fascinated by the evolution of education, and how the mediums of learning have transformed over time. The education landscape has shifted over the years, with learners increasingly opting for micro-courses in the fields they love.

Emu is my passion project aimed at making music education and creation accessible for everyone.

A peek at what’s coming

A course library for producers, performers, and enthusiasts

Music education is so much more than just music theory. With a wide array of varied courses, you’ll be able to learn both technical production and mixing topics, as well as cultural and historical events in music.

Interactivity baked into every course and lesson

Learning music doesn’t happen just conceptually - it happens when you can hear and feel the sounds and concepts you’re learning.

Every lesson in a Emu course is designed to engage learners conceptually and experimentally.

A community of learners and creators in the Emu Studio

Take what you’ve learned with Emu to create and share your own music, whether it’s a lo-fi beat or a new synth patch. Or, challenge yourself with audio and theory exercises to reach the top of the leaderboard.

Roadmap

Emu is currently in the Creation phase

Foundation

The Foundation phase established the core requirements and groundwork for the Emu vision. We have established the brand identity, as well as the core app layout from wireframe to high-fidelity renders.

Creation

During the Creation phase, the foundation for the Emu course library will be created. We’ll create the Emu ‘toolbox’ of lesson screens that will make up every lesson and course, and use those tools to create the first Emu lessons.

Prototype

When the first lessons are complete, we’ll take the consummate effort and create a high-fidelity prototype that we’ll use to user-test the material. From there, we’ll iterate based on what we learn and complete the first Emu courses.

Development

Once the first Emu courses are fully vetted, we’ll have the technical specifications necessary to develop a native instance on a mobile platform.

Beta Launch

Once development is complete, we’ll do a limited beta launch and do further testing with the courses. Simultaneously, we’ll begin course development for additional Emu courses.

Official Launch

We’ll work out the kinks from the Beta and set up a marketing campaign to kick off the Emu official launch.
